Is this your time to bloom?
I enjoy watching my magnolia tree produce its flowering blooms every spring. Just like clockwork the white flowers started blooming early June and produced its last bloom this week. Or so I thought… This morning a patch of white caught my eye as I realized there was one more bloom to admire. With camera in hand I approached the tree to capture this beauty and smell the sweet fragrance of this final bloom. I thought of Ecclesiastes 3:11 where Solomon says the God has made everything beautiful in its time. Solomon had observed that God in His providential plans has an appropriate time for every activity. I thought about my friends who think their glory days have long passed and they are too old to try new adventures or embrace new opportunities. They feel like their time to blossom has expired. Just because you didn’t blossom when others did does not devalue the impact and beauty of the late bloomers. Remember, God does everything in his time and not our time. When we think it’s over, God has the final word. Is it your time to blossom and expose the beauty of your gifts for the glory of God? Don’t be surprised if the opportunity to bloom happens in your own back yard.
