A week ago, I captured this sunrise view of The Garden of the Gods park in Colorado Springs, CO. The Garden of the Gods’ red rock formations were created during geological activity along a natural fault line millions of years ago. This massive rock formation got its name when a surveyor remarked that the rocks look as if they were planted by the Gods. From a photographic perspective, it looks as if God strategically planted each rock to form the perfect composition. To get this sunrise photo, I had to arrive while it was dark to set up. As I waited for sunrise, I meditated on God’s word of encouragement for the remnant leaving Babylon in Isaiah 51. I’m so glad that we serve a God who can take a bunch of rocks and create a masterpiece. If he can do it for these rocks don’t you know that he is doing the same for us? As the sun rose to reveal the beauty of these rocks, I was reminded that God’s Son rose for our benefit and is worthy to be praised for we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
“For the Lord comforts Zion; he comforts all her waste places and makes her wilderness like Eden,
her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song.” Isaiah 51:3
