Thessalonians 3:5 For this reason, when I could no longer endure it, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor might be in vain.
When storms or troubles come, they reveal the reality of our faith.
When his delay in visiting the church in Thessalonica became unbearable, Paul sent Timothy to find out how the Christians there were weathering the storms of persecution that had befallen many of God’s people in the early church. Paul’s fear was that satan has seduced them into giving up their loyalty to Christ for personal comfort.
A wise man once said that we are either going into a storm; in a storm; or coming out of a storm. On our Christian journey, we can expect storms and trouble to come our way. The pier in the photo was built to withstand storms. However, the only way to test its storm worthiness is to see how it handles hurricane force winds, rain and waves. Could it be that when we go through storms in our life, God is testing us to see how strong our faith is?
