Clarence Burke is a Landscape and Fine Art photographer residing in Durham, North Carolina. Clarence has an eclectic background involving faith, technology and the arts. By calling, Clarence is a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; by education and training, he completed rewarding careers in portrait photography, broadcast television, corporate communications and information technology; and by passion, he is a landscape photographer. Clarence’s love for photography began as a teenager with a Kodak Instamatic camera and led to his first career as a portrait photographer. Within six months, Clarence was named the company’s number one photographer and promoted to the division that created the artistic strategy for the company’s 1,600 photographers worldwide. A few years later, Clarence left professional photography to embark on rewarding careers in television and Corporate America.
Currently, Clarence serves as the Pastor of Beacon Light Missionary Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina and is the Director of Educational Technology at the Apex School of Theology. Clarence’s journey in life is a testimony of the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:13, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’.
After a 30 year absence from serious photography, Clarence has refocused his photography as an extension of his ministry and to display the beauty of God’s creation. Clarence’s photography motto has been adopted from the words of famed landscape photography pioneer, Ansel Adams, ‘Sometimes I arrive just when God’s ready to have someone click the shutter.’ His prayer is that you will find joy in the photo art on his website. Most images are available as prints and can be found under the Purchase Prints tab. If you see something that inspires you, feel free to comment and ‘like’ it on social media.
